Author Andrew J Field lives in Northumberland by the sea, next to the docks, close to the border. His fiction includes All Down the Line, After the Bridge and Accidents Will Happen. He also helped edit, compile and publish You Are One of Us, a Mott The Hoople tribute book written by fans for the fans. A PR and communication specialist, he has a MA in novel writing from the University of Manchester.
All is Known, currently out on submission, is a serious, thoughtful and crafted literary novel dealing with universal themes, (although it could still be marketed as crime fiction). It is an introspective work compared to the author’s previous ‘noir’ novels, but still has a creeping anticipation of disaster as the tension ratchets up. Think Bernhard Schlink’s The Reader meets David Szalay’s Flesh. All three focus on the enduring impact of complicity, guilt and trauma on the present.
An ambitious novel blending personal and historical trauma, All is Known refuses to offer easy resolutions. It will appeal to thoughtful readers seeking depth, emotional resonance and meaningful character arcs.
A sequel, All is Justified, exploring Ben and Luke’s reaction to Ingrid’s revelations, is in the pipeline. Although protected by their wives and the establishment, the twins eventually turn on each other as they become increasingly paranoid about the exposure of their toxic masculinity.
